Respected as one of the country's leading children's choirs, the NLCC is frequently engaged by the UK 's symphony orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. It appears at the BBC Proms most years, and has performed at festivals around the UK. The choir also records for TV as well as for major films such as Star Wars Episode 1 and Disney's Tarzan. The NLCC appears at Royal events, and recently took part in the Queen's Jubilee parade and the Commonwealth service in the presence of the Queen. The choir also appears on many commercial recordings with leading conductors such as Ashkenazy, Rostropovich, Levine, Sinopoli and has recently recorded Carmen and Turandot on Chandos. It has also appeared on CDs with Charlotte Church and Roberto Alagna, and made commercial recordings in its own right.

For a fraction of the sponsorship cost of supporting a major orchestra (for example), a Title Sponsor of the New London Children's Choir would benefit from being associated with one of the highest quality children's choirs in the country, giving performances with all the major orchestras in all the major concert halls. There would also be benefits associated with all the other events and recordings for which the choir is engaged.

The choir also promotes its own concerts every year, including an annual Christmas concert which is a popular family event. In 2001 the choir promoted a 10th birthday concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall which included two world premieres and received great critical acclaim. The choir has now commissioned and premiered over 30 new works and aims to promote further concerts of its own in London , commissioning further new works, and thus continuing its commitment to contemporary music.
