Since its foundation in 1991, the New London Children’s Choir has been at the forefront of commissioning new music for children to sing. Amongst the many composers who have written specially for the choir are Tansy Davies, Gary Carpenter, Simon Bainbridge, Diana Burrell and Sir Karl Jenkins. The choir has also budding composers amongst its own members and gives them valuable opportunities to have their pieces performed.
As part of the 25th anniversary celebrations, the choir launched an inaugural composition competition for school aged composers and gave a public performance of the winning entry, by Katrina Toner, at the Milton Hall Concert Hall.
News on future competitions will be posted here.
